Waterville Planning and Zoning Commission Schedules April 21, 2022 Public Workshop to Establish 2022 Amendments to Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code

The Town of Waterville Planning Commission is holding a public workshop at 5:30 pm on April 21, 2022 to take input on issues to be included on the Town’s 2022 “docket” for amendments to the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code.

The Town is limited by the Growth Management Act to amending the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code to once per year.  A recent petition to amend the Zoning Code to allow a large retail/commercial use in the Tourist Commercial Zone has kick-started the process of creating the 2022 docket of amendment.

The purpose of the April 21st workshop is to hear from the Town Council, staff and citizens changes they would like to see and issues that need to be addressed in the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code. The workshop will include a brief introduction to comprehensive planning and zoning and a review of the docket items presently being considered.

The Town wants the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code to accurately reflect the needs and desires of the community. As your local appointed officials, members Planning and Zoning Commission rely on residents, business owners and citizens to provide input as part of the process. If you would like to discuss the amendments, contact Kurt Danison, Highlands Associates at (509) 322-4037.
